Developing Our First Digital Collection: Seattle Art Museum Annual Reports-Traci Timmons

Developing digital collections always seemed daunting because of the assumed cost and staff time, especially for a museum library that lacked project funding and internal sponsorship. However, by engaging local graduate MLIS students and using existing equipment, and by focusing on a small collection with limited copyright concerns, we were able to create a useful, well-developed digital collection at a low cost with spectacular results. I will present on how we got started, our process, some pitfalls, and the end result, including outreach efforts.
