ARLIS/NA 2021 Virtual Conference Attendance Awards

The Northwest Chapter of ARLIS/NA is inviting applications for our 2021 Virtual Conference Attendance Award. This year the Northwest Executive Committee will provide three awards to cover conference registration costs to attend the ARLIS/NA 49th Annual Conference, taking place online from May 11-13, 2021.

Please review the qualifications below before submitting a brief personal statement (250-300 words) of how receiving this award would benefit your professional development. Email your application to nw.arlisna (at) gmail.com with the subject line ‘ARLIS/NA Conference Award Application’. Applications are due April 12, 2021.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants must be members of the ARLIS/NA Northwest Chapter and members of ARLIS/NA. However, students living in the Northwest region (Alaska – Alberta – British Columbia – Idaho – Oregon – Washington – Yukon Territory) do not need to be members of the Chapter or the National organization to apply.
  • Preference will be given to first-time attendees, to those who are participating in the conference as a speaker, moderator, session recorder, or serving as a committee member.
  • Financial need will be considered as part of the application, including but not limited to: applicants that are unable to receive institutional funding towards conference attendance, as well as those who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The Chapter welcomes applications from individuals whose identity, experiences, scholarship, and/or service have prepared them to contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Chapter and the profession.

Award winners must submit a report to the Northwest Executive Committee within one month of the conference, summarizing conference activities and experiences for Chapter communications, and are encouraged to stay professionally active with the Chapter. The award winners’ reports will be posted on the Northwest Chapter website.
